  “For me, being bilingual means being able to help others that are not able to communicate in their own language. It also means being able to pass my heritage to the next generation in the form of my son.Having my son born and raised in the US, it is so important for us as Latin parents to be able to teach our son about our roots, tradition… our heritage. One key component as parents is to maintain and nurture our native language in our home and show him the value of speaking both languages. Being able to speak Spanish and English has allowed my son to make contributions in his community which makes me very proud.At just 5 years old, he recently had the opportunity at school where he had a classmate that only spoke Spanish. My son was able to be that language bridge between the student and the teacher.   When CEO Marvin Ellison joined a huddle at our Central New Orleans store, he was asked to name his biggest accomplishment. His response?“The fact that we’re giving opportunities for leadership to people who have earned it. If you can do the work, and you can treat people well, you can lead. You can be effective. To me, that’s the only thing that matters.”
