AEW COLLISION RESULTS FOR JUNE 29

It’s the night alright for fighting, folks.

They get right to the first match of the night.

Orange Cassidy & Tomohiro Ishii vs. Shane Haste & Robbie Eagles: They started the match with Haste demanding to know what’s in Orange’s pockets. He wouldn’t tell him. So Haste shot him off, shoulder blocked him, and physically checked one himself. Nothing there. So he repeated the process trying to check the other. Cassidy ducked and dodged and tagged Ishii in. Tandem offense takes the heels out, babyfaces posing. TMDK gets back, control, sets up a comeback for the babyfaces. They get it, and Ishii runs wild. Big back-and-forth ensues, Cassidy and Eagles battle it out but Orange manages to get the best of him with Beach Break for the three count. Cassidy & Ishii def. Haste & Eagles via pinfall

Chris Jericho and Big Bill walking backstage. They head for the trainer’s room. Jericho says “hi” and tells them they aren’t taping wrists correctly and they need to do it right for more support during a match.

Jericho then gives a tip to Bill and the Bounty Hunter to take a roll of tape every time they go to the trainer’s room, because that way they won’t have to pay for it later.

So Bryan Keith steals one.

Stephanie Vaquer vs. Lady Frost: Mercedes Mone came out for the match and sat ringside, instead of on commentary. It mattered not, considering it was quiet enough in the arena that you could hear any comments she was making, like saying “I would never tap out” when Vaquer threw a submission. Frost took Vaquer to the outside and showed off to Mone before eating a big kick. They did a staredown right after. Fans chanted “CEO.” Frost put up a decent fight from there but the New Japan Strong Women’s Champion took care of business in the end. Vaquer def. Frost via pinfall

After, Mone got in the ring and held her title up over her head for Vaquer to see. “What chu gonna do?” Vaquer simply looked on, circled to the ropes, and then made her way out.

Suddenly, Mone was attacked from behind by Vaquer’s tag team partner, Zeuxis. Vaquer came back and they left Mone laid out while Stephanie held up both titles.

The Lucha Brothers apparently have an announcement for Forbidden Door. They say they have something special. But before they can announce anything, they’re interrupted and Los Ingobernables propose a match. Instead, Lucha Bros say they’re teaming with Mistico and that leaves everyone excited.

Serena Deeb vs. Kelly Madan: They didn’t give Madan a proper entrance, and that could only mean one thing. Deeb went to work right away, a hammerlock, DDT, picked her up, slammed her, that was it. Deeb def. Madan via pinfall

She took a mic and said she knows how the story goes. She fell short in her quest to become AEW women’s world champion but she refuses to be put into wrestling purgatory. This is AEW, where the best wrestle, and she is the best. She says she proves it every time she’s in the ring. So give her someone to wrestle that is on her level.

Riho’s music hits.

They have a staredown in the ring and Deeb smiles and walks away from it. Buffalo showered her with boos for that.

They kick us back to The Learning Tree and Jericho is saying he just wants to check something. He asks someone coming out of the bathroom if they washed their hands, because germs spread really easy this time of year. The guy goes back into the bathroom.

“Thanks, guys!”

After a break, Jericho and his crew are still walking in the back and talking about hockey. Jericho tells us about a zamboni, and he says he wants to give some tips to the driver so they know what to do. He opens a door and Samoa Joe and his boys are right there with a hello and a big brawl.

They fight all around, and the battle spills over into the arena.

It eventually leads to Jeff Cobb and Samoa Joe facing off and duking it out, with Cobb getting the better of it by way of a spinebuster. A “holy sh*t” chant broke out for that.

Cobb stands tall with Jericho, Bill, and Keith.

Orange Cassidy interviewed and he says things aren’t going great for him. Actually, his world is falling apart and he has a match against the best technical wrestler in the world tomorrow night. But where is he?

He doesn’t respect Cassidy for not showing up. Sabre Jr. finally does show up, saying of course he respects Orange and that’s the entire reason he challenged him. But he didn’t need to watch Cassidy’s match because he knows all his tricks. When they’ve been in the ring, Sabre has always had the answer.

“I’ve waited a year to beat you.”

Cassidy says he’ll pin him with his hands in his pockets.

They almost come to blows but Sabre Jr seems unfazed, claiming he’s already won the match.

Hechicero vs. Kevin Blackwood: A straight up blitz of a match, with Hechicero rushing Blackwood and hitting him with rapid fire offense. Blackwood tries to fight back but gets overwhelmed. Hechicero spins him, arm hammerlock, dropped on the knee. He rolls him through with the modified Rings of Saturn and that’s enough for the verbal tap. Hechicero def. Blackwood via submission

He wouldn’t let go of the hold for a bit, with commentary saying it’s a message to MJF.

Lexi with Christian and the rest of his crew.

She says he’s made it clear he’s got his eyes on the trios titles. He calls her observant for that. The Patriarchy has carried this company on its shoulders for some time now and he deserves to be recognized as champion. They all do.

He proclaims they will be the next trios champions.

That brings the Bang Bang Gang into the picture. Jay White says it’s nice to meet him but he’s setting a poor example. What type of father says “I quit?” He says he’s trying to rebuild himself for his wife and dinosaur, although it’s hard to tell them apart.

Then he makes a joke about Nick Wayne’s mom drinking too much during the pregnancy.

That got a nice response.

White continues on a bit more before they take off, with Christian never actually responding and Killswitch just grunting at them as they walk off saying “guns up.”

They call this upcoming match the Battle of Buffalo.

Daniel Garcia vs. The Butcher: Both guys are natives of Buffalo, hence why it’s a battle of it. Nigel says Butcher looks like a carnival strongman, something Daddy Magic can’t help but laugh while agreeing with it. Garcia was throwing everything he had at The Butcher, who was taking a lot, considering the size difference. Eventually, Daniel got him down, following up with a big piledriver that was enough to get the three count. Garcia def. The Butcher via pinfall

Garcia got out and did the dance with the home crowd. Then he got back in the ring and shared a moment with Butcher.

Will Ospreay interviewed about how personal things have become with Swerve Strickland. Will says he can wait 24 hours before he caves his head in.

Suddenly, Don Callis shows up and Ospreay tells him again he wants to do this on his own. Will asks Kyle Fletcher if he can have him out there because Strickland will have a lot of people. Fletcher agrees and Callis sends him out. They leave.

Then, a firm hand appears on Don’s shoulder. The camera pans and we see Rush standing there.

Spoilers for the remainder of the show can be found here.
